Course Information

This course gives the candidate the basis of how electricity works, covering various common components and how they work. This is essential knowledge for any signal engineer to have.

Pre-requisites

None, this course is designed for those new to the rail sector.

Course Outcomes

Delegates will learn and gain understanding of the following:

• Circuits and diagrams
• What is electricity
• Experiments with series and parallel circuits
• The Theory of Motors and Transformers
• Ohms Law in theory and practice

Assessment

Delegates will be assessed via a written theory test and observed practical experiments by their assessor. Upon completion of the course, delegates will be awarded a certificate of competence.
