Course Information

This course is for delegates who are responsible for fault finding, repairing and testing of Signal Engineering equipment as part of their duties on Network Rail Infrastructure. The course gives delegates the knowledge of procedures to take place when signalling failure occurs as well as techniques to verify symptoms as well as escalation procedures.

Pre-requisites

Delegates must hold SMTH.a (Core) competency to attend this course.

Course Outcomes

The aim of this course is to develop the learners’ understanding of the hierarchy, authority, responsibilities and procedures for dealing with wrong-side failures in signalling equipment.

Assessment

Delegates will be assessed by taking a theory test and completing a practical test observed by their assessor. Upon successfully completing the course, delegates will have their SMTH competency card updated to include SFI Level 1 competency.
